Brandon and Devon (aka BaD) are heading off to our honeymoonacation in Southeast Asia. We are thrilled to explore new cultures and volunteer in places like Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and more!
The first question we get asked is typically, “Why Southeast Asia?” followed by, “How do you pack for something like that?”
As we prepped for the trip, we relied on those who have traveled before us – particularly for destinations and packing lists. So below is a look at what we’ve packed for our 5-6 month journey. (At the end of the trip, we will take a look at how we likely should have packed – and what we dump along the way.)
Since we know the weather in Nepal will be colder, we have a few items, like long sleeve shirts, thicker socks, etc… that will be donated along the way.
HER LIST:
- Shirts: 13 (some t-shirts, some tanks, some moisture wicking, 2 long sleeve…)
- Shorts: 5 (denim and workout/sleep)
- Pants: 6 (2 leggings, 2 quick dry, 1 pair of jeans for Nepal)
- Dresses: 2 (dumped the skirt for space but will likely buy one over there)
- Underwear: A lot (3ish weeks worth of underwear, 4 sports bras, 2 regular bras)
- Swimsuits: 2
- Socks: 6
- Shoes: 3 (tennis shoes, multi-purpose shoes, sandals)
- Jackets: 2 (one for warmth, one for rain/wind)
- Microfiber towel: 1
- Sleep Sac: 1

HIS LIST: (not pictured)
- Shirts: 12 (mostly t-shirts, 2 collared, 1 long sleeve)
- Shorts: 4 (denim and workout/sleep)
- Pants: 2
- Dresses: 0
- Underwear: 8 (+2 for working out and diving)
- Swimsuits: 2
- Socks: 7
- Shoes: 2 (tennis shoes, sandals)
- Jackets: 2 (one for warmth, one for rain/wind)
We both also packed ear warmers (again for Nepal), a microfiber towel, a sleep sac, toiletries etc… And on top of all that, we are loaded down with 6 months’ worth of medication for Devon (yay Crohn’s!) and 2 small bags fill with donations for kids and schools along the way. (I may have gotten a little carried away at Target buying school supplies — whoops!)
So with our bags packed we are off to our first stop: Kathmandu, Nepal! We are excited for this adventure!
