Our First Anniversary: Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and back to Whitefish

I really wanted to be back in Whitefish for our first anniversary. It was a nice way to celebrate our first year together. (Plus I wanted another taste of our delicious huckleberry wedding pie!) So we packed up the gear and planned a gorgeous drive through Grand Tetons National Park and Yellowstone National Park. You could not ask for a more beautiful drive! We thought about staying the night in or near the park, but the summer crowds were insane, so we kept moving.

In the Tetons, we stopped for a few photos. And in Yellowstone, we paid a visit to Old Faithful. (Side note: If you plan to visit multiple national parks in one year, it is worth every penny to get a National Park Pass. It is a one-time fee and covers everyone in your vehicle! We bought one in Santa Fe and got great use out of it!)

Anyway, after a stressful couple of hours where we almost ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere, we finally made it to Whitefish for some photos back at the scene of the crime, followed by an amazing dinner and a monogrammed anniversary pie. (Thanks, Mom!)

We spent the next week hiking, spending time with my parents, checking out places like Iceberg Lake in Glacier National park, and preparing to explore Oregon, Washington and Canada – the official PNW!
